Globalization I - The Upside: Crash Course World History #41 Video Clips. Duration : 11.85 Mins.

Look at Crash Course poster #2: www.dftba.com In which John Green teaches you about globalization, a subject so epic, so, um, global, it requires two videos. In this video, John follows the surprisingly complex path of t-shirt as it criss-crosses the world before coming to rest on your doorstep, and eventually in your dresser. (Unless you're one of those people who never puts their laundry away and lives out of a laundry basket. If that's the case, shame on you.) Anyway, the story of the t-shirt and its manufacture in far-flung places like China, Guatemala, and India is a microcosm of what's going on in the global economy. Globalization is a bit of a mixed bag, and there have definitely been winners and losers along the way. In this episode John will talk about some of the benefits that have come along with it. Next week, he'll get into some of the less-positive side effects of globalization. Also, you should turn on the captions. He was 92. Ravi Shankar, the legendary sitarist and composer is India's most esteemed musical Ambassador and a singular phenomenon in the classical music worlds of East and West. As a performer, composer, teacher and writer, he has done more for Indian music than any other musician. He is well known for his pioneering work in bringing Indian music to the West. This however, he did only after long years of dedicated study under his illustrious guru Baba Allaudin Khan and after making a name for himself in India. Always ahead of his time, Ravi Shankar has written three concertos for sitar and orchestra, last one of which in 2008. He has also authored violin-sitar compositions for Yehudi Menuhin and himself, music for flute virtuoso Jean Pierre Rampal, music for Hosan Yamamoto, master of the Shakuhachi and Musumi Miyashita - Koto virtuoso, and has collaborated with Phillip Glass (Passages). George Harrison produced and participated in two record albums, "Shankar Family & Friends" and "Festival of India" both composed by Ravi Shankar. Ravi Shankar has also composed for ballets and ...

House of the Rising Sun Guitar Lesson Tube. Duration : 5.95 Mins.

House of the Rising Sun fingerpick lesson by Teague Purtell. Free material to go with video: www.musiclearning.com To study guitar online with Teague visit: www.musiclearning.com Mistake part of the progression is missing in this video. The whole progression is this: Am CDF Am CEE Am CDF Am E Am CDF Am E Am E It ends up being a 22 bar progression. All of the E's are really E7. I typed it like that so it would line up better and hopefully be easier to see the progression. The Animals version has an 8 bar intro: Am CDF Am E Am E The Animals recording ends with the last chord of the 22 bar progression being a Dm instead of E and then going to Am. It fades while going back and forth from Dm to Am (1 measure each) I will probably redo the video so there isn't any confusion.

For the very reason that you are not struggling, just purely creating harmony alone, but you are also creating enlightened society.... When there is that kind of harmony takes place, properly, fully, then there is some kind of joy taking place... The harmony had to be related with some sense of lusciousness, richness, which is one aspect of harmony. The other aspect of harmony is a sense of spaciousness, and openness. Grande Fantasia Triunfal Sobre o Hino Nacional Brasileiro - GOTTSCHALK Tube. Duration : 9.68 Mins.

(Eugene List, piano) Grande Fantasia Triunfal Sobre o Hino Nacional Brasileiro by Louis Moreau GOTTSCHALK The First Great American Pianist Born in New Orleans in 1829, Louis Moreau Gottschalk grew up in a neighbourhood where he was exposed to the Creole music with its African-Caribbean rhythms and the melodious folk songs that would later become a characteristic ingredient of much of his own music In 1842 he left the United States and sailed to Europe, realizing that a classical training would be required to achieve his musical goals. While such professionalism in a 13-year old would normally be the result of the parents´ ambitions, it is clear from Gottschalk´s letters, that he himself was the driving force. In a letter to his mother, for example, he wrote that "I definitely expect that in two years or perhaps less I shall be earning a living on my own." In Europe, however, Gottschalk had a rather bumpy start, as the Conservatoire in Paris rejected his application. For this reason, Gottschalk had to study privately with Karl Hallé, Camille-Marie Stamaty and Pierre Malenden (the latter teaching composition). In the years to follow, despite the initial rejection by the musical establishment, he built a first career as a pianist virtuoso, prompting Frédéric Chopin to predict that Gottschalk would soon become one of the foremost pianists of the century. In 1853, Gottschalk returned to the United States, possibly trying to escape an environment that he regarded as being ...
